Remap is run by [trading name], [postal address] (“we”). We’re the controller of your personal data. If you have a question or want to use any of your rights, email [support email].
The short version
- What you write about what you’re going through is used once, to write your session, and then deleted.
- We keep your sessions, a short note of the needs each one focuses on, and what you’ve listened to, so you can come back to them.
- We don’t show ads, use tracking cookies or sell your data.
- You can delete your account, and everything in it, from the Account page at any time.
What we collect and why
- Your email address, when you sign up, so you can sign in and listen to the library. We only send you news if you tick the box to say you want it. Legal basis: contract, and consent for news.
- What you write when you make a session, such as what you’re struggling with and what you needed. This can include information about your mental health, which is special category data, so we only use it with your explicit consent, which you give with the tick box before we make your session. We send it to Anthropic to write your session and don’t store it. Legal basis: your explicit consent.
- Your sessions: a short summary of the needs your session focuses on (never what happened to you), the script, and the recorded audio. Legal basis: contract.
- Your preferences and listening history, like your chosen voice and how many times you’ve played a session. Legal basis: contract.
- Payments: Stripe handles your card details; we never see them. We keep your Stripe customer reference and what you’ve bought. Legal basis: contract and legal obligation.
- Usage and error events, such as “a session was played” or “a page had an error”, without anything you wrote. We use these to keep Remap working and to understand what helps. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
Who helps us run Remap
These companies process data for us under contracts that require them to protect it:
- Cloudflare hosts Remap and stores your account, sessions and audio.
- Anthropic writes session scripts from what you write and your preferences.
- ElevenLabs turns scripts into the recorded voice. It receives the script, not what you wrote.
- Clerk handles signing in with an email code.
- Stripe takes payments.
- Google Fonts serves our typefaces, which means your browser’s IP address is sent to Google when a page loads.
Some of these companies process data outside the UK, including in the United States. When they do, it’s protected by the safeguards UK law requires, such as the UK–US data bridge or the UK’s international data transfer agreement.
How long we keep it
What you write to make a session, or to ask for a change to one, is deleted as soon as your session’s brief is written. Previews you don’t keep are deleted after 30 days. Everything else is kept until you delete your account, apart from payment records, which we keep for six years because the law requires it. Usage events are kept without anything that identifies you once your account is deleted.
Cookies and storage
We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser stores a small key that keeps you signed in on this device, and your appearance setting. Clerk sets cookies that are needed for signing in.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to move it. You can withdraw consent at any time. Delete your account from the Account page, or email us for anything else. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
Remap is for adults aged 18 and over.
